About
This work isn’t about fixing yourself ~ it’s about learning to listen to who you already are, and coming home to yourself.

The story of
Dr. P. Shiroma
Dr. P. Shiroma is an award-winning author who earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and writes across a wide range of meaningful subjects designed to uplift, inspire, and support personal growth across life’s seasons.
Born in Okinawa, she was raised in a culture that values family, respect, and tradition ~ principles that continue to shape both her life and her work today. Some of her favorite memories are of the clear blue waters of Okinawa ~ snorkeling along the coast, swimming among tropical fish, or walking barefoot in the sand, feeling grounded and present. She also has a deep appreciation for traditional Okinawan bingata and enjoys wearing beautiful kimonos, reflecting her love for cultural artistry and heritage.
With a background in psychology, Dr. Shiroma brings professional insight and empathy to her guided journals for women, adoption-themed children’s books, and a series of recipe journals that celebrate food, family, memory, and tradition. Her writing focuses on helping readers better understand themselves and develop thoughtful, approachable practices that build clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of connection to who they are. Her work is published under Tonbo Press, her independent publishing company, and includes titles available in print and through Amazon Kindle.
Recognized as a trusted voice and community-centered leader, she is especially passionate about adoption advocacy, where she combines personal dedication with professional experience to raise awareness and encourage understanding and compassion.
Beyond writing, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen (especially with dishes inspired by her love of sushi and Asian cuisine), baking, crafting, sewing, gardening, and raising different breeds of chickens that lay a rainbow of eggs. Most of all, she treasures time with her children, who inspire her to live with imagination, creativity, and love.
